Anastasia Valen - Spectre Arachne

This is a conceptual design for a character on Gaia Online I am working on. The shop is based on the anime Saint Seiya [link] where myths come alive and battle. In a nutshell Zeus has retired so Athena is put in charge. Well Hades and Poisiden would like to take her place so they all create their own armies using mythsic armor called "cloths". Athena has "Saints" while Hades has "Spectres".

My choosen concept myth is Arachne, the spider woman. Legend has it that Arachne was a talented weaver, so much so she bragged she could create something even better than Athena, goddess of crafts. The goddess suddenly appeared and demanded a contest to make her prove it. Well....she kinda did. Her tapestry was, even by Athena, considered to be a masterwork. However Arachne's tapestry depicted the gods in a very bad light; usually involving their trists with mortal women. Athena became enraged and tore the tapestry apart. There are several versions of how Arachne got turned into a spider. In one she hung her self and athena saved her by turning her into a spider. Others Athena just did that out of spite.

For my character Anastaisa, or Arachne when she is in her Saint form, is loyal to the God Hades, whom she views as the only honest god. He is loyal to his wife and always keeps his end of a bargin. This form of her armor is at one of her higher power levels but I love it! Her armor is inspired by victorian corsets and bustle dresses.
